Research Interests:    
My research interests focus on social justice, inequality and marginalisation; urban regeneration and gentrification; regional planning and economic development; local economic development, inclusion, informality and housing; spatial transformation and urban growth management. My professional experience stretches over 30 years as a consultant, public official and academic.  I have undertaken work for national and provincial government departments, district and local and municipalities, the private sector as well as for NGOs and international development agencies.  Recent book chapter: “Contested Collective Memory in the Segregated City of Cape Town”.
